How to Run a Fake ID Verification Check

Run a real-time DMV check on any scanned ID directly from the Vēmos ID Scan app — here's how it works.

  1. Scan the guest's ID as you normally would.
  2. Once the information is processed, tap the shield icon next to the guest's name to initiate verification.
  3. A pop-up window will appear and run the check in real time against DMV records.
  4. Once complete, the pop-up updates to confirm the result — for example, "Verification Complete: Identity has been successfully verified." From here, choose to Admit, Ban, or Deny the guest.
  5. Once you close the pop-up, the result stays visible on the guest's name card as one of two icons:
    • Verified checkmark — ID is approved
    • ⚠️ Caution sign — ID is invalid or flagged as fake

Note: How you proceed with a caution/fake ID result is up to your venue's discretion — every venue handles this differently. Troubleshooting: If you get a timeout error, try again — this usually means a brief interruption in your Wi-Fi or cellular connection. In rare cases, the DMV database itself is down; if that happens, we'll notify you directly.
