Vēmos Pro Sled Wi-Fi Connection Issues

Having trouble getting your Vēmos Pro Sled to connect to Wi-Fi? Most connection issues come down to a few common settings. Here's what to check.

Common Things to Check

  • Wi-Fi is set to WPA2 (not WPA3 or mixed mode)
  • You're not connecting to a guest or sign-in Wi-Fi page
  • Your router is automatically assigning IP addresses (DHCP)
  • The device isn't being blocked by MAC address filtering
  • The device has access to the internet

Wi-Fi Type Matters — Make Sure You're on WPA2

The Vēmos Pro Sled connects to WPA2 Wi-Fi. Many newer routers default to WPA3 or a WPA2/WPA3 mixed mode, which can cause the device to look connected but not actually work — it may show an "IP address mismatch" or never fully connect.

Seeing "IP address mismatch" or "IP configuration failure"? This is almost always a Wi-Fi type issue, not an internet issue. Check your router settings first.

How to fix it:

  1. Log into your router and switch your Wi-Fi security to WPA2 (AES)
  2. On the Vēmos device, go to Settings → Wi-Fi, press and hold your network name, and tap Forget
  3. Reconnect to the network and re-enter your password

Important: Skipping the "Forget" step is the most common reason the fix doesn't seem to work — the device holds onto the old settings even after the router is updated.

Avoid Guest Wi-Fi or Sign-In Pages

If your venue has a Wi-Fi network that requires guests to tap "Accept" or log in before connecting, the Vēmos device won't be able to use it. Connect it to a standard password-protected Wi-Fi network instead.

Troubleshooting

🔴 Seeing "IP address mismatch" or can't connect at all?

Your router is likely set to WPA3 or mixed mode. Switch it to WPA2, then forget and reconnect on the device.

🔴 Password accepted but still won't connect?

The device may be blocked by MAC address filtering. Ask your IT team to allow it on the network.

🔴 Connected to Wi-Fi but no internet?

You may be connected to a guest or sign-in network. Switch to a standard password-protected Wi-Fi network.

🔴 Connected but the app won't load?

Your network may be filtering or inspecting traffic. Ask your IT team to exclude the Vēmos device from any network filtering tools.

Still Having Trouble?

The device needs a stable internet connection to work. If it's connected to Wi-Fi but the app still isn't loading, your venue's network may be blocking it. Reach out to us at support@vemos.io or 877-388-7872 and we can work with your IT team directly.
